Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Lauren has been working with the clinical team at The Delray Center for 4 years as an intensively trained Dialectical Behavioral Therapy coach. She has worked as a master’s student intern for 4 semesters and graduated from FAU’s Mental Health Counseling program in December 2015.

Lauren’s philosophy in counseling puts emphasis on treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. She provides significant attention and energy into her clients both in session and outside of session. Lauren works with both adolescents and adults with a broad spectrum of diagnoses and struggles, such as personality disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, problems adjusting, and skills coaching. In addition to individual treatment, she runs several therapeutic groups treating both adults and adolescents.

Lauren’s main therapeutic objective is to practice in a way that allows her clients to feel comfortable and receive the highest quality of care. She strives to implement ethics and professionalism in both the work place and her daily life. Lauren’s ultimate desire as a clinician is to coach clients through their journey of creating a life worth living.

Shyla’s direct and compassionate therapeutic approach helps clients achieve results they are seeking. She brings over ten years of experience to The Delray Center helping those seeking assistance with mood disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders and interpersonal and family issues. Shyla provides individual, family and group psychotherapy to adults and older adults and currently directs group psychotherapy specializing in recovery, codependency and older women’s issues at The Delray Center. Shyla is a Medicare provider.

Shyla utilizes a variety of therapeutic strategies and techniques to meet her client’s goals and strives to build a positive and nurturing relationship to increase value and motivation in their lives. Shyla is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and incorporates these life skills and philosophies into each session.

Anthony has dedicated his professional life to helping people and professionals find fulfillment and navigate significant life changes. He works with adults of all ages treating in the areas of depression, anxiety, substance abuse recovery, grief/loss, life transitions, and healthy relationships. In addition to individual and couples therapy, Anthony facilitates group sessions focused on expressive outlets, men’s issues and leads DBT Skills classes. He has over 10 years of experience in the field and is a Medicare provider.

Anthony’s therapeutic approach is rooted in the fundamental belief in the strength and possibility of clients. He takes time to attend to the mind, body, spirit connection, utilizing a variety of theoretical approaches including Solution-Focused, Dialectical-Behavioral and Expressive therapies.
 Anthony works with his colleagues at Delray Center to develop programs attending specifically to the mental health and wellness needs of our community.

Kerri’s compassionate approach to therapy allows clients to find comfort in an honest therapeutic relationship, in order to achieve their personal goals for healing. She works to create a non-judgmental and supportive environment that promotes an individual’s personal strengths and innate ability to resolve his or her own life struggles. She is particularly interested in the dynamics of families and the impact they have on an individual’s relationships and schemas. Her intention is to gain an understanding of clients’ patterns of behaviors, and use her training and intuition to guide treatment and establish therapeutic goals.

Kerri’s passion for nutrition influences her understanding of mental health and well-being, as she recognizes the importance of physical health and its effects on one’s thoughts and emotions. She leads weekly groups focused on life skills, the benefits of juicing, book studies, self-validation and empowerment. She has a passion for working with children and teens, and specializes in providing services to clients who struggle with substance abuse issues.

Kellie’s professional life is dedicated to working with adults, children and families in varying stages of life challenges. Her professional experience in hospital, hospice and private practice settings has shaped her compassionate approach focused on building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients. Kellie utilizes evidenced-based psychotherapeutic treatments to help clients achieve a reduction in symptoms and improve their overall wellness.

Additionally, Kellie has extensive experience and training in crisis intervention and critical incident stress management. Drawing upon this knowledge, Kellie partners with her clients to create trusting, supportive relationships that enhance strengths and interpersonal capabilities. Kellie provides individual, couples, family and group therapy in the areas of relapse prevention and grief/loss with adults and older adults. Kellie is a Medicare provider.

Kellie has co-authored a book on grief and loss that will soon be published.

Monika has worked with a diverse and wide-ranging population of clients in her career, including people living with HIV, survivors of intimate partner violence, children and families, and Latin-American immigrants. Monika strives to create a warm, non-judgmental and trusting environment, allowing clients to reach greater awareness of self and create effective changes in their lives.

Monika currently provides individual and group therapy around issues surrounding substance abuse recovery, interpersonal conflicts, DBT skills, CBT skills, depression, and anxiety using a variety of modalities; including psychodynamic and narrative therapy, art therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, and gestalt therapy techniques. Monika also facilitates adult DBT Skills groups.

She works with adults and adolescents, treating a broad range of difficulties including substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, grief, and interpersonal and family relationship issues.

Jennifer’s goal is to promote overall mental wellness of individuals through support, encouragement and challenge. In conjunction with providing individual therapy and couples/marital therapy, she also leads group sessions focused on assertiveness, relationship issues, codependency issues, dialectical-behavioral skills, women’s issues and body image issues.

Jennifer works closely with her clients to build a constructive, trusting relationship; and encourages them to become actively involved in their treatment. Her depth of education and experience allow her to draw upon a variety of therapeutic approaches to help her clients.

Dr. Rodriguez’s academic and professional success is fueled by his unrelenting desire to raise the standards of mental health care. As a Magna Cum Laude scholar at Florida International University and then as Chief Resident at University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Rodriguez recognized the importance of addressing the total health needs of each client – physical, mental and emotional – in order to achieve long term treatment success. This commitment to comprehensive wellness is an essential element in his approach to helping every client.
