Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Group is designed to help individuals understand and improve their own behavioral struggles and decrease emotional intensity and reactivity. The DBT Skills Group is a 6-month program that focuses on the four foundational modules of DBT, including Core Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness. This group concentrates on building specific skills that improve the ability to balance acceptance and change in life, while also improving awareness of dialectics that often create conflict. The group is lead by two intensively trained DBT therapists who focus on building a new skill set that allows participants to be more effective and mindful in their daily routines and create their “life worth living”. DBT is an evidence-based approach that is supported for a wide range of problematic behaviors.
The DBT Skills Group is offered for both adults and adolescents. If you would like more information about the different DBT Skills Groups offered, you may visit http://www.delraycenter.com/dbt/.
